As far as neighborhoods go it doesn't get much better that the Inner Sunset in San Francisco. I believe its one of the most overlooked places in SF and has a world of growth to come.
Years back I remember Noe Valley having that same feeling. The cute shops, the great restaurants and even its own Whole Foods! These days with the likes of Mark Zuckerberg and other Tech Kingpins owning in Noe Valley its one of the harder places to get into.
While the Inner Sunset may not have Zuck and lets face it as much sunshine as Noe. It does has all of the San Francisco charm you can ask for. in my opinion it has even more. Your walking distance to the best park in America (Golden gate park) which holds the De Young Museum, Cal Academy of Sciences, Stow Lake and Strawberry Hill. It has amazing restaurants, bars and yes, it is a short drive to Whole Foods in the Haight.
I have read the many terrible comments about the the new listing Tudor Revival on 7th Ave. While it does lack a decent remodel to accentuate the beauty of this old home built in 1911 it makes up in square footage and location. This home is listed at $2,895,000 over $1,000,000 over the neighborhoods median price and while many find this to be something out of a Science Fiction Novel. I have faith they will get it or close to it. Not only but a few months ago a smaller home sold for $2,500,000.
