Many of you that know me know that I truly enjoy the Inner Sunset District. I may be partial because I live here but really is a wonderful place. For me the fog is a part of being San Franciscan. Those evenings when the fog rolls in and blankets our wonderful city there's nothing better than a nice fire and a good book. While many seek out the sunny spots in the city I look for the fog and revel in its glory. There something nostalgic about it. Herb Caen once said “The number of foggy days over the city is never reported, reportedly. But take it from me— there's enough to satisfy everyone, and dissatisfy somebody.” To each their own. One things for sure we get our fair share of sunny days as well. The only other place I enjoy more than the Inner Sunset is Golden Gate Heights. My wife took me there claiming she had found a new park. Being born here I thought that to be impossible for me not to have seen it. Sure enough, all this time had kept this gem of an area from me.

Ah Yes. The winter has arrived. With this weekend in San Francisco being mixed with a little sunshine and some definite rain my wife and I decided to stay in town and enjoy San Francisco's restaurants we normally would avoid due to the long waits. This time of year is the best in the city. There's no problem parking and its a bit quieter in the morning. All of this had my wife and I dreaming of Lake Tahoe.
This weekend there was over a foot of new fresh snow reported on Donner Summit which means we are officially in winter. With most of the resorts blowing snow and an additional storm on its way now is a great time to dust off those ski's and snowboards and get ready for some world class riding.
Lake Tahoe is made up of 4 counties, Placer, El Dorado, Douglas and Washoe. Within these counties lies a wonderland of enjoyment. You have 7 world class ski resorts that receive over 400 inches of snow ever year. There's over 300 days of sunshine and 500 runs to choose from. If there's one thing that's for sure Lake Tahoe has you covered.
